The previous model was known for being quite loud under load, but the updated 750W Bafang geared hub motor operates at a much quieter 60 dB. Up front, you will find an SR Suntour XCM32 air suspension fork with 90mm of travel. Stepping up to larger 203mm rotors is one of those practical changes you immediately feel on a heavier ebike. When paired with the Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, the larger rotor size provides much better heat dissipation on long downhills and gives the calipers more physical leverage. Commuter Accessories and Updated Lighting
Right out of the box, this model comes fully equipped for daily utility with low-profile alloy fenders and a short rear rack. The rack is MIK compatible, allowing you to easily and securely snap on a variety of bags and baskets. Pedal Assist Customization
What makes the Stellar Falcon 2 stand out is how much control you have over the power delivery. You can set the exact power output percentage and the acceleration curve (engagement timing: fast, medium, or low) for every single assist level. These settings carry over whether you are using the cadence or torque sensor.
We tweaked the levels for our test ride using the following settings:
Cadence Sensor Test
Riding with the cadence sensor provided steady support from the motor after about a half crank of the pedals.
- Eco: You get a nice, easy cruising speed of around 12 mph.
- Tour: This level offers a bit more push, giving you a comfortable cadence at 17 mph.
- Sport: Shifting into Sport noticeably increases the output, easily creeping your speed up between 21 and 25 mph.
- Turbo: The motor gives you a massive boost, allowing you to easily cruise at 27 to 29 mph on flat pavement without breaking a sweat.
Torque Sensor Test
Switching the display over to the torque sensor requires more physical legwork to reach top speeds compared to the cadence sensor, but allows for a highly natural and responsive ride:
- Eco: A casual pedaling effort lets you cruise around 11 mph. If you want to push harder for a workout, you can get it up to 14 or 15 mph.
- Tour: Cruising at 13 mph feels effortless. Putting in more leg power gets you up around 18 to 20 mph. You will feel it in your legs, but it is an effort you can sustain for long periods.
- Sport: This level makes it much easier to cruise at 18 mph, and adding a little more leg power comfortably pushes you into the 22 to 23 mph range.
- Turbo: You can easily cruise between 21 and 25 mph. Hitting 28 mph requires a bit more effort than it does with the cadence sensor, but it does not take much leg pressure to coax the full power out of the highly sensitive motor.
Throttle Only Test
You can customize the throttle output to take on the power profile of the assist level of your choice. For example, we tested the throttle set to Eco, which gives a very gentle, controlled takeoff. If you want maximum power, setting the throttle to Turbo delivers an aggressive push that quickly accelerates you to 20 mph. This proved to be an excellent accessibility feature, especially on an ebike that uses a thumb throttle, as they can be tricky to modulate.
Hill Climb Test
We took the Stellar Falcon 2 up our massive test hill to see if the quieter motor delivers the same power we loved on the original. With our test rider weighing 140 lbs, the motor conquered the hill on throttle alone without a problem. For most of the climb, it held steady between 10 to 12 mph, only dropping to a minimum climbing speed of 9 mph right at the end just before cresting the hill.
Pedaling up using the torque sensor in Eco required a significant amount of legwork. However, we held steady around 7–8 mph with easy effort in Turbo. If you want to make things easier on steep inclines, using the cadence sensor or pedaling alongside the throttle ensures you tap into consistent power.
Off-Road Performance
Is this a dedicated trail bike? Definitely not. But it is way more capable off-road than a standard commuter ebike. The wide, knobby Schwalbe tires and the SR Suntour air fork give you a ton of confidence on dirt and light trails, soaking up bumps easily. Just keep in mind that the swept-back handlebars on the step-thru model are not built for precise trail control. The straighter bars on the mid-step may be the way to go if you plan on going off-road frequently.

One of the closest competitors in the dual-purpose category is the Velotric Summit 2, though it noticeably takes a more active approach to the hybrid ebike than the Stellar Falcon 2.
