Souke Sports Review: Quality Bike Gear at a Great Price!
I am always on the lookout for companies that do biking accessories well at an affordable price. Souke Sports does just that. They have a wide product line from apparel to bike gear to products you can customize.
We tested three of their popular biking items and will share our thoughts below. Souke Sports is offering a 10% discount at checkout if you use the code ‘EbikeEscape‘.
The Souke Sports Men’s Windproof Fleece Pants are a steal at $36.99. These pants are designed for cold, wet, and windy biking days. The 4-way stretch fabric allows for a full range of movement. The water-repellent, windproof exterior and fleece interior keeps you feeling warm on your ride. You may need another layer if wearing these on truly arctic days (we live in a climate where -30° F windchill occurs). These are perfect though for the majority of our winter and fall/spring temperatures.
I especially like the smart design of the Souke Sports Pants. There are two side vents that you can unzip for ventilation. The back pocket (shown in the picture below) will hold smaller items like a key, but not larger items like a phone or wallet. The drawstring and elastic waistband make for a comfortable fit (and as my wife pointed out is more forgiving for weight fluctuations!). The smartest design element of them all is the adjustable velcro at the pant bottom to avoid the fabric from getting stuck in the bike chain. And while these pants are designed with biking in mind I plan to wear mine for both running and walking on colder days.
I am 6 feet tall, approx. 140 lbs., and wear 30×32 in pants. The medium in the Souke Sports Fleece Pants fit perfectly. Consider whether you like a looser or tighter fit as the 4-way stretch will factor into your size if you are on the border.
Souke Sports Full-Finger Cycling Gloves Review
The Souke Sports Full-Finger Cycling Gloves (unisex) are reasonably priced at $25.99. They come in four colors: black, red, blue and green. I like that they provide some warmth without the bulk. They are also slim enough to fit under handlebar mitts if you use this accessory for winter riding.
I utilize a handlebar-mounted cell phone holder while riding. The Souke gloves are touchscreen-friendly so I don’t have to remove my gloves every time I want to use my phone. There is a perfect amount of cushioning on the palms for additional comfort and the reflective detail is a nice touch. I can’t think of anything more I would want in a thin bike glove. I plan to use the Souke gloves by themselves on mild days and pair them with handlebar mitts when it gets colder in Wisconsin.
The Souke Sports Breathable Waterproof Bicycle Saddle is perfect for those wanting to upgrade their current saddle with a comfortable cushion (made of sponge and silicone) for only $28.99. The bonus is that you don’t need to mess with any tools to change out a saddle. Simply slip this gel cover over your current saddle and use the straps to secure it. The Souke Sports Saddle also comes with a waterproof rain shield which is much classier than the grocery bag I used to use for rain protection.
And while Souke advertises this as a saddle, it is a saddle cover designed to fit over your existing saddle (see picture). The cover is designed to fit over standard size saddles or bike seats which means if you have a saddle that already has a lot of cushion this may not fit on your bike. Hopefully, Souke Sports will offer more sizes in the future. For the price and ease of installation, the Souke Sports saddle cover is a great option to add additional comfort on your electric bike.
