Lectric XPeak 2.0 Video Review
Key Improvements on the XPeak 2.0
Torque Sensor
The addition of a torque sensor offers a more natural and responsive riding experience compared to the previous cadence sensor. It measures how hard you’re pedaling and adjusts the motor assistance accordingly, resulting in smoother acceleration and better control. Lectricโs torque sensor is highly responsive and delivers plenty of power, ensuring a confident ride whether on roads or trails.
Larger Battery Options
Lectric now offers larger battery options: a 15Ah battery with up to 60 miles of range or a 20Ah battery offering up to 80 miles. The 15Ah battery is included at the same price as the 14Ah battery on the XPeak 1.0, providing more capacity without added cost. The batteries are paint-matched and bottom-mounted for easy removal, integrated into the frame, and UL 2271 certified for safety and reliability.
8-Speed Shimano Altus Drivetrain
The Lectric XPeak 2.0 features a Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain with an 11-32T rear freewheel and trigger shifter, an upgrade from the XPeak 1.0โs Shimano Tourney 7-speed drivetrain with an 11-28T rear freewheel and thumb shifter. These improvements deliver smoother, more precise shifting, perfect for off-road trails and steep climbs.
203 mm Front Rotor
The XPeak 2.0 upgrades to a 203 mm front rotor, delivering greater braking power for enhanced safety and confidence, especially during high-speed descents. The rear retains a 180 mm rotor, while the XPeak 1.0 featured 180 mm rotors on both the front and rear.
Color LCD Display w/ USB-C Port
The Color LCD Display on the Lectric XPeak 2.0 provides clear ride metrics like speed, battery level, PAS mode, and wattage, with advanced settings for customizing your ride. It also features a convenient USB-C port, allowing you to charge devices on the go.
Hydroformed Frame Design
A newly designed hydroformed frame not only adds to the bike’s rigidity but also gives it a modern and streamlined appearance. It includes three bosses on the down tube and 2 bosses on the top tube for mounting accessories (high-step model).

Handlebars with Lock-On Grips
The Lectric XPeak 2.0 features handlebars with a slight rise, offering a balanced riding position that combines stability with a slightly aggressive stance for better control on trails. Paired with ergonomic lock-on grips, this setup enhances comfort and reduces hand fatigue, ensuring a confident and enjoyable experience on longer rides and diverse terrains.

What Hasn’t Changed on the XPeak 2.0?
Price
The Lectric XPeak 2.0 continues to deliver unmatched value with significant upgrades for the same cost. Starting at $1,399, it now includes a 15Ah battery, offering more capacity than the 14Ah battery on the XPeak 1.0 without any price increase. Riders can also choose the extended 20Ah battery for $1,599.
Premium Front Suspension
The RST Renegade fork, valued at over $400, was first introduced on the XP 1.0 and continues to set a high standard on the XP 2.0. It offers 80 mm of travel, preload adjustment, and a lockout option, ensuring excellent performance on both smooth roads and challenging trails. The inclusion of black stanchions adds a sleek, modern touch to the suspension.
Frame Options
The Lectric XPeak 2.0 still offers two frame options: the Step-Thru in Stratus White for easy accessibility and the Step-Over in Tempest Gray for a classic, durable design, catering to different rider preferences.

Riding Experience
On-Road Performance
The Lectric XPeak 2.0 offers exceptional on-road performance, excelling in both throttle-only and pedal-assist modes. Below is a breakdown of its capabilities, with additional customization options available in the Advanced Settings section.
Throttle-Only Performance
The throttle delivers effortless acceleration, reaching 20 mph with a peak motor output of 1310 watts. It engages smoothly, making flat trails and quick bursts of speed feel seamless. By default, throttle speed is linked to the selected PAS (pedal-assist) level:
For greater flexibility, you can adjust the P22 setting to allow the throttle to reach 20 mph in any PAS mode. This simple change provides even more versatility for riders who want consistent throttle performance.
Pedal-Assist Performance
The torque sensor provides a more natural and intuitive riding experience, adjusting motor assistance based on how hard you pedal. The more power you put in, the more power you get out.
In PAS Level 5, it was easy to maintain speeds in the mid-20s, but hitting 28 mph required a solid push. Advanced settings like P8 (speed limit adjustment) and P11 (increased motor power) can make these speeds easier to achieve.
The Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain ensures smooth, efficient shifting, even during climbs or high-speed efforts. The refined drivetrain and the responsiveness of the upgraded trigger shifter is a definite upgrade over the XPeak 1.0. Whether commuting, cruising, or getting a workout, the XPeak 2.0 offers the control, power, and customization to suit any riderโs needs.
Off-Road Capabilities
Lectric challenged us to take the XPeak 2.0 on rugged desert trails filled with rocks, steep climbs, and uneven terrain to evaluate its off-road performance, and the bike delivered impressive results. While it may not match the agility of lighter-weight electric mountain bikes with narrower tires or full suspension, its high-quality front suspension enables it to outperform all budget-priced fat tire ebikes.
Robust Suspension
The RST Renegade fork excels at absorbing bumps, rocks, and drops, ensuring a smoother ride on challenging trails. With 80mm of travel, preload adjustment, and lockout options, the suspension responds effectively to rugged conditions.
Powerful Motor and Torque
The 750W motor (1,310W peak) combined with the torque sensor provides plenty of power and control for off-road conditions. The motorโs 24-amp output enables the bike to tackle steep hills and rocky terrain. The 85Nm of torque ensures consistent power delivery, making the bike capable of maintaining momentum on tough trails.
Fat Tires
The 26″ x 4″ Chaoyang tires offer grip on sandy, rocky, and loose surfaces. These puncture-resistant tires give peace of mind and the aggressive tread enhances stability and control, making the bike a reliable companion for off-road adventures.
Ergonomic and Stable Design
The slight-rise handlebars and ergonomic lock-on grips improve control and comfort during technical maneuvers. The balanced design supports stability on rough terrain, making it easier to navigate challenging paths and maintain momentum.
Thru-Axle Front Wheel
The thru-axle front wheel adds rigidity and enhances handling, particularly on uneven trails. Its tool-free removal simplifies transport, offering practicality alongside performance.
While not a full-fledged mountain bike, the XPeak 2.0 handles technical trails and challenging conditions with surprising capability. From steep climbs to rocky descents, it offers the power, stability, and responsiveness needed for occasional off-road adventures, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a versatile fat-tire ebike.
Advanced Settings for Customization
The Lectric XPeak 2.0 offers several advanced settings for riders looking to fine-tune their ride:
These settings are easily accessible through the bikeโs color LCD display by holding pedal assist + and – at the same time. Navigate the different P-Settings by taping the power button and change settings using the pedal assist controls. Riders can customize their experience to match their preferences, whether they want smoother acceleration, higher throttle speeds, or maximum power output for tackling challenging routes.
Pros and Cons

Cons
- Heavy Weight: Like most fat tire ebikes, the XPeak 2.0 is on the heavier side, which can affect maneuverability.
- No Adjustable Stem: The bike is designed for off-road performance rather than leisurely cruising.
